NATIONALITY, SECURITY AND DEMOCRACY WEAKENED SAYS FORMER KING

Kathmandu, 2 March: Former King Gyanendra said
Thursday he feels nationality, people’s security and
democracy have been diluted.
“Feel the country’s nationality, security of people and democracy have been diluted Where will Nepalis go without Nepal?,” he asked reporters at Biratnagar airport.
“Where to stay with heads high?” he again asked
“I don’t have much to tell you. You are aware of the
country’s situation.”
Supporters shouted anti-republic slogans at Biratnagar before emplaning for the capital after inaugurating the Bhabishya [future] at JHumka, Sunsari. organized by a UML defector Kamal Nuraula.
He met RPP-Nepal leaders and ministers of the royal
Regime during a three-hour transit in the industrial
town.
Thousands of supporters at Biratnagar and towns en
route Jhumka along the road greeted the former head
of state with slogans, garlands and bouquets.

NEPAL,INDIA RAILWAY TALKS BEGIN

Kathmandu, 2 March: Two-day Nepal-India review of
rail service agreement began in the Nepali capital
Thursday.
Talks center on transport of cargo between land-locked Nepal’s inland container depots (ICDs) and Indian integrated check posts and Indian ports.
Nepali talks team is headed by Joint Secretary
Narendra Prasad Upadhaya at commerce and supply ministry.

UML CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET FRIDAY

Kathmandu, 2 March: UML central committee is
meeting Friday to discuss a political report of
Chairman Jhalanath Khanal and organization report
of General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel finalized by the standing committee Thursday.
The reports are to be present at the two-day meeting of the national representatives meeting in the capital beginning Sunday
The council is meeting after three years with 878
delegates attending.
Nearly 200 women delegates will attend Sunday’s meet.
