RS. 60.25 MILLION BAIL SOUGHT FOR RELEASE OF
INLAND REVENUE OFFICE ACCOUNTANT
Kathmandu, 27 March: A full bench of the special court
Tuesday set a bail of Rs 60.25 million for the release of accountant Pitambar Prasad Pokharel at Inland Revenue Office.
He’s been charged for misappropriating Rs 30.12 million
by CIAA.

JUMLA JEEP ACCIDENT INJURED AIRLIFTED TO
CAPITAL FOR TREATMENT
Kathmandu, 27 March: Monday’s Jumla jeep accident victims
were airlifted to the capital for medical treatment Tuesday.
Seven were killed and 17 were injured in the accident.


CHINESE ASSIST FOR SWC
Kathmandu, 27 March: The Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation, China has agreed to provide a minimum of $100,000 annually to the Social
Welfare Council (SWC) for the next five years for constructing cultural and memorial buildings in Nepal, RSS reports.



A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed between the Council and the Foundation amidst a programme here on Tuesday.

Besides, the Foundation is expected to run projects targeting women, children and persons with disabilities in the near future. It has planned to launch its drive from Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.

The Foundation is the first international non-government organisation of China joining hands with the Council.

Council Member-secretary Engineer Rabindra Kumar and Foundation Deputy General Secretary Ge Chen signed the agreement on behalf of their receptive organizations.
