SCUFFLE BREAKS AT PARLIAMENTARY PARTY MEET OF MJF GANATANTRIK
Kathmandu, 26 March: A brawl between a suspended lawmaker and a minister
broke at parliamentary party MHF (Ganatantrik) forcing the cancellation of the party’s meeting Monday.
The scuffle broke out between a suspended lawmaker BP Yadav and Minister
Without Portfolio RajLal Yadav who criticized the suspended lawmaker who has been charged for misuse of diplomatic passport..
The meeting was convened to discuss party strategy after Communication
Minister Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta was convicted and jailed on corruption charge by the supreme court.
Gupta is theparty’s chairman.

TRANSFRRED SENIOR OFFICIAL REINSTATED AT LAOUR MINISTRY
AFTER MINISTER’S DISMISSAL
Kathmandu, 26 March” After the dismissal of :about Labour Minister Sarita Giri by Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai , Purna Chandra Bhattarai has been reinstated as the Director General of Department of Foreign Employment under the ministry
headed by Giri.
The premier charged Giri for transferring Bhattarai on the recommendation of unnamed manpower agency owners—a charge denied by the woman minister.
The prime minister publicly supportedthe irector who was commended for his good work by the government chief.

CIAA CHARGES OFFICIAL
Kathmandu, 26 March: A Rs.10 million corruption charge was registered Sunday
by CIAA at the special court against Ramesh Kumar Shrestha, executive director of Trade and Export Promotion Center.
Shrestha was charged for irregularities of funds set aside for promotional activities related to the 10th SAARC Trade Fair held in 2010.
The investigating agency has sought a two-year hail term along with a Rs 9.8 million fine.

CALLS FOR FAVOURABLE TREATMENT TO ENCHANCE TRADE WITH CHINA
Kathmandu, 26 March: Traders involved in Nepal-China business have stressed on the need for more favourable treatment by China to enable Nepali goods to have presence in the Chinese market, The Kathmandu Post reports.
Given the country facing a huge trade deficit with China, the businessmen urged for additional facilities from the Chinese side in quarantine, ease in exporting goods to which China has provided duty free access and more facilities for traders in bordering Nepali districts.
Nepal-China Chambers of Commerce and Industry (NCCCI) President Rajesh Kaji Shrestha said Nepal has not been able to take benefits of the duty free access provided by China on 4,000 products.
“That’s why the list should be made more practical and Nepali traders should be made aware about the facility,” he said at the 12th annual general meeting of NCCCI.
Given the complicated procedures in quarantine check posts of China affecting exports of Nepali agricultural goods, Shrestha urged for a mechanism under which the Nepal government issues quarantine certificates and Chinese authorities recognises the certification.
Shrestha added that the Chinese side providing duty free access to goods worth RMB 8,000 for traders of bordering Nepali districts was not enough to boost Nepal’s exports.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan said Nepal has failed to take benefit of the Chinese market despite huge potential.
