Kathmandu, 25 March: U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Dr Alyssa Ayres arrived Sunday on an previously announced visit to
review the current situation, especially the status of the peace process and
constitution drafting.
She will meet party leaders and officials during a five-day stay.
Ayes comes after a three-member EU team concluded a Nepal visit. at a crucial and
fluid stage.

CHAIRMAN NEMWANG ASKS PARTIES TO CONCLDE TASKS WITHIN DEADLINE

Kathmandu, 25 March: Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subas Nembang urged leaders of various political parties to be devoted to peace and constitution writing process as the term of the CA was approaching its end, RSS reports.
Speaking at a function organised on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of Bishal Milan Kendra, Bihshalnagar, here today [Sunday], he said, "There is no alternative to peace and constitution, and none of the political parties desires conflict like in the past, so the political parties should have to conclude the peace and constitution writing process working round the clock."
Inclusiveness is our achievement, Nepal should be made a beautiful garden comprising the people of all castes and languages, said CA Chairman Nembang. He stressed on the need for piling pressure on the political parties by the social organizations such as the Kendra for peace and constitution writing process.
CA members Narahari Acharya, Narayan Sharma, Shanti Adhikari and Rama praised the Kendra's contributions to the development of social sector.
On the occasion, founding office-bearers of the Kendra, its supporters and the senior citizens of the Kathmandu Metropolis-4 were feted.
Winners of various sports tournaments organised on the occasion of the Kendra's Silver Jubilee were also honoured at the programme chaired by its President Dr Deep Kumar Sharma.

PM REITERATES CONSTITUTION WILL BE PROMULGATED WITHIN DEADLINE UPDATE

Kathmandu, 25 March: The PM said in his written statement presented in the meeting of State Affairs Committee on Sunday morning. The PM has further asserted the ongoing inter-party discussions on contentious issues were moving forward in a positive direction and has expressed hope that the constitution will be drafted
within the given time frame, Reporters Nepal.com reports.

Stating that peace, constitution and good governance were his government's priority, he has claimed that all these priorities have gained momentum since the formation of the government.

He has assured to fullfil all the vacant positions of constitutional organs will be fulfilled soon. Saying that that bio data of the concerned nominees empanelled for the assignment have been taken for scrutiny he said the government was working to build standards.

He made the assurance to SAC member lawmakers Pradeep Gyawali, Bishnu Poudel, Chitra Bahadur KC sought clarification on the delay.
