Kathmandu, 29 March: This year's School Leaving Certificate Examination (SLC), which began on March 20 across the country simultaneously, has concluded
Today [Thursday], RSS reports from Bhaktapur.

Controller of the Examination Office, Dilli Rimal said the exams have been concluded in a disciplined manner except for few incidents.

This year, 445,974 students appeared for the examination as regular while 45,974 students were exempted. Only 105 students sat for exams from Manang district-lowest in the country. Similarly, a total of 34,014 students, highest among the 75 districts, sat for examinations from Kathmandu district, according to the Office.

1,748 examination centers - 422 in eastern region, 509 in central region, 373 in western region, 269 in mid-western region, and 175 in far western region - had been arranged to conduct the examination.

Each Under-secretary in all 14 zones had been assigned for effective monitoring, curbing irregularities and anomalies in the exam.

Despite stern actions announced against those involved in irregularities, only few were brought to book.

FORMER KING IN DHANGADI

Kathmandu, 29 March: Former king Gyanendra arrived by a regular commercial flight Thursday in Dhangadi to begin a four-day visit to the far-West—his first after became a commoner.
The former king will be engaged in religious activities and will interact with people.
