9 INJURED IN ROAD ACCIDENT Kathmandu, 26 April:: As many as nine persons were injured in a road accident near Rapti Bridge along the East-West Highway on Thursday afternoon, RSS reports from Hetauda. The accident took place when a tempo (Na 1 Ta 568) en route to Lothar bazaar from Hetauda collided with a truck (Na 1 Kha 5461) heading to Narayangadh, according to the District Police Office, Makawanpur. Critically injured passenger has been taken to Bharatpur Hospital for further treatment. Other injured are undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital. Nnnn INCESSANT RAIN DESTROYS CARDAMON IN SANKUWASABHA Kathmandu, 26 April: Incessant hailstorms in the recent days destroyed cardamom, the main cash crop of the district, worth million rupees in the northern part of Sankhuwasabha district, RSS reports from Sankhuwasabha.. Farmers said that the hailstorms completely destroyed the cardamom, potato and maize, wheat and barley crops in different VDCs including Jaljala, Syabun, Num and Barhabise in the district. Farmer Datemba Sherpa of Jaljala VDC said that the farmers of the VDC used to produce around 400,000 kg cardamom every year. nnnn
