GOVT. TERAI OUTFIT SIGN 6-POINT DEAL

Kathmandu, 18 April: The government has signed a six-point agreement with Joint Revolutionary Tarai Madhes Mukti Morcha, an underground armed outfit waging struggle in Tarai region, RSS reports from Hetauda..

Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Satya Pahadi shared the information at a press meet after signing the agreement with the Morcha here Wednesday.

As per the agreement, the Morcha will be committed to peace and constitution by giving up violence, hand over all of its arms to the government while the government is to provide security to the Morcha Coordinator and Joint Coordinator and will release the detained cadres of Morcha with due procedure.

The government talks team was led by Minister Pahadi with Ministry Secretary Dhruba Kumar Sharma, deputy regional administrator, Dil Bahadur Ghimire while Raj Brij Mahato led the Morcha side with Rajiv Kumar Saha and Wakil Ansari as members.

FRESH MANDATE NEEDED SAYS KAMAL THAPA
Kathmandu, 18 April: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, Kamal Thapa, has said a fresh mandate would be needed if the Constituent Assembly (CA) fails to deliver the new constitution.

At a greetings exchange programme organised by the Federation of Inclusive Democratic Trade Union Nepal in the capital on Wednesday, Chairman Thapa claimed that the present political turmoil was a hindrance to the promulgation of constitution by May 27.

"The working style and attitude of the political leaders indicate that no constitution will be promulgated within the stipulated date, and even if promulgated, it would not meet the people's aspirations," he claimed.
