UPDATE SURENDER SAYS BAIDHAYA GROUP, PRACHANDAEFFIGIES BURNT, UPDATE WITH OTHER DETAILS

PRACHANDA, BHATTARAI HAVE SURRENDERED SAYS BAIDHAYA GROUP, PROTESTS WEDNESDAY UPDATE

Kathmandu, 10 April: Amid reports at cantonments and satellite camps from
various parts of the country with Maoist Baidhaya pelting stones and
clashing with former colleagues, the delayed integration process was further delayed Tuesday.
Effigies of Chairman Prachanda and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai
were burnt and a one-hour disruption of traffic movement along highways Wednesday was announced.
The Baidhaya group called Tuesday’s developments handover of
responsibility of cantonments, fighters and their weapons to Nepal Army, a former undefeated enemy, as ‘surrender’.
Nepal Army has taken over responsibilities of physical security of Maoists as well.
