UPDATE TALKS BETWEEN RULING COALITION AND NC, UML INCONCLUSIVE
Kathmandu, 3 July: Talks Tuesday evening between ruling coalition and
opposition NC and UML were inconclusive, Health Minister Rajendra Mahoto said
NC and UML demanded immediate replacement of the Baburam Bhattarai
government as Maoist Chairman Prachanda presented a four-point agenda for discussions, Mahoto said.
The agenda including discussions on a budget, a constitution, a national government and other issues.
The parties are continuing discussions, Mahoto said.

FORMER CA CHAIRMAN NEMWANG URGES TALKS BETWEEN PARTIES
Kathmandu, 3 July: Former Chairman of the dissolved Constituent Assembly (CA), Subas Chandra Nembang, has said that political parties should take initiatives to resolve problems through talks by stopping the culture of blaming each other, RSS reports..
Talking to media persons at the Bhadrapur Airport, Nembang said there was a need of consensus among political parties in the context that there was need of an amendment to the Interim Constitution to hold fresh CA elections.
The Interim Constitution of Nepal had no provision of promulgating the new constitution through the roundtable conference, added the former CA Chairman.
He said the country was plunged into crisis as the political parties had not been serious towards drafting the constitution in time despite his frequent request to that end.
