DETAILS OF CPM-MAOIST GENERAL CONVENTION
Kathmandu, 17 Aug.: CPN-Maoist will hold its
national general convention in the Capital in January.
Netra Bikram Chand coordinates a 11-member main convention organizing
Committee.
A five-member committee comprising CPN-M Chairman Mohan Baidhya, Vice-Chairman CP Gajurel, General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, Secretary Netra Bikram Chand and leader Dev Gurung will prepare a political document.
The party will renew membership till 1 October and
state committee national meets will be held 16 to 25 December.

MAOIST CHIEF, KAMAL THAPA MEET

Kathmandu, 17Aug.: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal, Kamal Thapa, met Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, at the latter´s residence at Lazimpat on Friday, RSS reports.
During the meeting, they discussed on resolving the current political crisis of the country.
They held talks on writing the constitution from the Constituent Assembly (CA) and were of the opinion that the writing of constitution from outside the CA will not be acceptable to both the parties, Dahal´s aide Shiva Khakurel said.
The duo discussed on formation of a government under the leadership of a non- party individual and neutral persons should be inducted in the government.
It is said that they also talked on moving ahead by holding continuous discussions for giving an outlet to the political crisis.

HARIBOL GAJUREL SAYS UCPN MAOIST ALLIANCE FOR CONSENSUS
Kathmandu, 17 Aug.; UCPN (Maoist) leader Haribol Gajurel has said the formation of the Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) has developed a new possibility in Nepali

Gajurel, who arrived at Jaleswor, the district headquarters of Mahottari for party works Friday morning, at a press conference said that the formation of the front has clearly demarcated those favoring federalism with identity and those not and help increase pressure for result-orientated consensus.
Stating that his party was insulted when they trusted the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress on party integration in the past, Gajurel said there will be no talks and consensus unless there is clear result in sight.
Also the buro in-charge of the party for Madhes, Gajurel said the talks and consensus should guarantee constitution making and not only make change of government.
