SPECIAL COMMITTEE MEETS MONDAY
Kathmandu, 26 Aug.: The Big Three met Sunday after a long interregnum and agreed to convene a meeting Monday of the special committee for integration, supervision of Maoist former fighters to complete a delayed peace process.
Major parties are represented in the committee.
Maoists, NC and UML leaders held informal discussions Sunday and again agreed ‘there’s no alternative to a national consensus’.
Sunday’s talks were held even as Prime Minster Baburam Bhattarai said parties
weren’t even on talking terms.
NC leader Dr. Minendra Rijal and Maoist leader and Deputy Prime Minister
Narayan Kazi Shrestha bothsaid differences will be sorted at at the special committee.
“If there’s no agreement there, the issues will be taken at the political level,” Rijal and Shrestha added.

UPDATE BODIES OF A WOMAN,INFANT FOUND ON BAGMATI RIVER
Kathmandu, 26 Aug.: Bodies of a woman and an infant were recovered during search operation by security agencies in Rautahat Sunday.
Bodies of three women were recovered from the river Saturday after an overloaded boat capsized.
Five bodies have been recovered so far..
Search operations were suspended Sunday and will resume Monday to search for missing—mostly women and children.
