UPDATE KOIRALA CONSULTS US AMBASSADOR Kathmandu, 27 Nov.: Following consultations with Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar Tuesday morning, NC President is holding discussions with US Ambassador Peter W. Bodde. Koirala sought international support during the meet. The president is emerging as his party’s candidate for consensus prime minister. nnnn RPP-NEPAL TO HOLD RATH YATRA Kathmandu, 27 Nov.: RPP-Nepal-- pushing for a Hindu state—is conducting a 10-day rath ratya starting from Lumbini, the birthplace of The Buddha, 17 December and ending at Pashupatinath Temple. The chariot procession will pass through 16 districts, RPP-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa said. nnnn. FAIRS BEING ORGANIZED Kathmandu, 27 Nov.: The Lumbini Tourism Festival and the National Agriculture and Industrial Trade Fair-2012 is to be organised at the Siddhartha Stadium in Siddhrthanagar Municipality, Rupandehi district, from December 6 to 16, RSS reports. The objective of the festival and the trade fair is to promote Lumbini, the birth place of the Buddha, the apostle of world peace, as a centre of attraction for tourists. The Siddharthanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rupandehi is organizing the festival and the trade fair. According to the organizers, some 300,000 visitors are expected to observe the festival and fair and the transaction are estimated to reach Rs. 100 million. Two hundred and eighty stalls selling and showcasing different industrial and agricultural products will be kept in the fair. Helicopter sight-seeing of the Buddha Circuit area, Fina zone, food festival, Ostrich bird and documentary show on monasteries, Buddhist temples as places related to the life of the Buddha such as Devdaha and Tilaurakot are the main highlights of the festival and the fair. A 49-member organising main committee and a 15-member work execution committee have been formed for making the festival successful.
