MAOIST SPOKESMAN PREDICTS BREAKTHROUGH LATER SUNDAY Kathmandu, 3 March: UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that the differences over the formation of a CJ-led government would be resolved by Sunday evening, RSS reports.. Speaking at the regular press meet held at the party´s central office in Paris Danda on Sunday, Sapkota said, "almost all the issues have been resolved, our party chair has summoned a meeting of the four parties at 5:00 pm today; an agreement by this evening will take the country towards elections". The only difference that remains is that related to the Commission on Truth and Reconciliation and on Enforced Disappearances, and they will be resolved today, he added. Referring to the Commissions, Spokesperson Sapkota said we have stressed for forming them immediately while NC and UML wants it to be done later. Some parties have also urged to wait for the Supreme Court´s decision. However, we are in favour of forming the government immediately. Even though the Election Commission has said that elections were possible within June if an agreement was forged by March 8, our party is of the view that we should not waste time in the statement that elections are possible in June. All the political parties are positive about elections and thus the atmosphere for the same is gradually developing, he added. On a different note, the UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson said a working unity was possible with the breakaway CPN-Maoist party. Nnnn COUNTRY TO BE FREE FROM CRISIS IN FEW DAYS Kathmandu, 3 March Minister for Health and Population Rajendra Mahato has said that the country would get an outlet of the ongoing constitutional and political crises within few days, RSS reports.. Laying the foundation stone of Out-patient Department (OPD) to be constructed at the premises of Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Zonal Hospital today, Minister Mahato said that the nation would get an outlet of the ongoing crises as political parties have reached close to a consensus. The Department is going to be constructed with the support of the Sai Krishna Foundation for Health Medical Sciences. Stating that necessary process for the formation of the Chief Justice-led election government for free and fair election has began, he claimed that the CJ-led election government would be formed by March 8. The Health Minister said that consensus was forged among political parties to form the CJ-led election government as election was the only alternative for an outlet to the existing crises facing the country. He stressed on the need of providing citizenship by decent to children of those who acquired citizenship by birth. On a different note, the Health Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Sadhbhawana Party, fulfilling human resources at health institutions has become difficult as the concerned Ordinance is still with the President. Minister Mahato said that he urged the President to endorse the Ordinance immediately and claimed that it would ensure that people get quality health services from the villages itself as the Act provides for a doctor and laboratory services in every VDC of the country. On the occasion, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, Dr. Tek Narayan Mandal urged the Health Minister to help arrange skilled human resources, physical infrastructures and other requirements of the hospital.
