LOKMAN SINGH KARKI SAYS HE WILL BOOK TAX EVADERS Kathmandu, 8 May: New CIAA Chief Lokman Singh Karki said Wednesday after his appointment he will book tax evaders and conduct investigations impartially maintaining CIAA effectiveness, neutrality and transparent. He said this in a statement as he assumed office. Expert will be hired to investigate complicated cases, he added. A total of 967 households have received the electricity facility from the electricity generated from the project, constructed with financial support of the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre, Energy Sector Support Programme, Dhaulagiri Community Resource Centre and Bohoragaun VDC, technical support of Ocean Power Service, Butwal and locals' voluntary labour, according to the chairman of the project, Taranath Sharma. The project was constructed at a cost of Rs. 34.36 million and will benefit locals of Ward Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 9 of the VDC. Meanwhile, stakeholders are making efforts in developing the district as the district of hydropower. The District Development Committee has already expressed commitment to declare the district as electrified district by 2017. Nnnn EUROPEAN TEAM MEETS CHAIRMAN REGMI Kathmandu, 8 May: A team led by Jean Lambert, the Chairperson of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with countries of South Asia held discussions with Chairman Khil Rak Regmi Wednesday. They discussed proposed constituent assembly elections urged by EU member states. The team discussed sending monitors to oversee a vote. Nnnn
