UPDATE LOOTING STARTS AT KHALANGHA Kathmandu, 19 June: Looting has started at Darchula district headquarters Khalangha where residents have taken away materials from government offices to their houses, a resident said. “While others are suffering, for some dadhain and tihar has arrived,” Avenues television quoted one person as saying. People rejected relief material flown in by helicopter for the first time by helicopter it came too late. Tow hundred families have beendisplaced. Part of the town on the Mahakali river dividing Nepal and India washed away the town. Altogether 109 government and provate hoiuses were washed away by the river eroding the Nepali side of the common river. In Bhibdutta municipality, Mahakali river has changed course entering the town and inundating houses displacing 205 families. Another 300 houses have been inundated by rising Karnali river in Tikapur. Nnnn 100 NEPALIS STRANDED EN ROUTE TO BADRINATH Kathmandu, 19 June:: One hundred Nepalis have been stranted en route to Badrinath on pilgrimage,in Utttarakhand, India, another television report said. They hail from Jaushaktar and Ghattaghar in Bhaktapur. Indian government hass informed its Nepali counterpart. Spme of the stranded have telephoned home of their plight. Nnnn UPDATE FORMER KING FELICITATED IN DHANUSHA Kathmandu, 19 June: Former King Gyanendra was felicitated .at a civin recpetuoin in Jahakpur Wednesday. He addressed the programme.
