ARMY CHIEF HAS BUSY DAY IN BEIJING

Kathmandu, 22 July:  Army Chief General Gaurav Shumsher Rana,

on a weeklong China visit, held a meeting with Vice Chairman of Central

Military Commission, Air Chief Marshal of China, Xu Qiliang on Monday in Beijing, the Nepal Army said..

They discussed during the meeting atn Bayi Hall issues of bilateral

interests and Chinese support for the state army.

Senior Chinese army officials were present at the meeting.

Gen Rana was presented a guard of honours from different units

People’s Liberation Army (PLA) before the talks started..

PLA’s Chief of General Staff, General Fang Fanghui attended the function.

The army chief held separate meeting with Chief of General Staff of

PLA, General Fang Fanghui and discussed the matter of bilateral interests

Gen. Rana signed a protocol on Chinese grant on two mobile hospitals.

China has assured another tranche of RMB 50 million assistance to NA in near

future, a statement said.
