By Bhola B Rana

Kathmandu, 3 April: Chinese Ambassador Zheng Xianglin Wednesday called on Nepal to curb protests of the Tibetans and called on the government to protest Chinese property from attacks by them.
“We hope the Government of Nepal can uphold justice, safeguard the dignity of law, and take severe measures to prevent these political organizations from organizing and implementing illegal political activities.
“We expect will be successful is adopting strong measures
not to permit illegal activities of such political groups [Dalai and Free Tibet].
“We hope the government of Nepal adheres to a One China policy and does not allow anti-China forces here. Our long-term friendly relations should not be undermined by these forces, Ambassador Zheng said.
“Demonstrations are going on without understanding the reality,” he said referring to daily anti-China protests of Tibetans in the capital at the Chinese embassy and UN Office.
The protests are aimed at derailing the August Olympic Games in Beijing, he added.
China has implicitly expressed displeasure at the presence of the Office of the Dalai Lama in Nepal, Nepal Samacharpatra reports and said all should try to foil demonstrations.
The ambassador asked for the protection of the embassy amid daily protests by Tibetans alleging unspecified foreign forces were inciting the demonstrations.
