PM Prachanda arrives in New Delhi for triumphant visit

Kathmandu, 14 Sept: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda arrived in New Delhi Sunday evening to begin a five-day official triumphant India visit as head of an elected Maoist-led government.
Before emplaning, Prachanda said he will pursue ‘legitimate national interests’ in talks with the Indian government beginning Monday.
Prachanda and top Maoists conducted the11-year people’s war based in India and the outskirts of the Indian capital under watch and protection of New Delhi even as CPN (Maoist) was declared terrorist by both Nepal and India.
Maoists captured power through international conspiracy with political parties without defeating the Nepal Army in battle.
India, USA and UK helped the Nepal Army fight Maoists.
India is reluctantly welcoming Prachanda.
It never expected Maoists to emerge as the largest party in the 10 April CA polls by defeating Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.
Fifteen amendment proposals to the government’s programmes and polices were rejected by majority vote in the CA before Prachanda began his India visit.

Annual budget Friday

Kathmandu, 14 Sept: Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai will present the Maoist-led government’s delayed annual budget of 2008/09 Friday.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda will return from his official India visit one day earlier.
