By Bhola B Rana

Kathmandu, 7 Sept: A strike by Madesh Janidhikar Forum (MJF), a constituent in government, disrupted life in Siraha for the fifth consecutive day Sunday as activists of the tarai party burnt tires on highways protesting excesses of Maoists, the main constituent in government.
Party followers were demanding Maoists returned seized assets, a demand of the main opposition Nepal Congress which never pressed the same pre-election demand.
MJF Chairman Upendra Yadav Sunday accused Maoists at a public programme in east Nepal the biggest party in a coalition government of violating terms of a common minimum programme which could threaten the future of the fragile government.
Nepali Congress has already claimed the days of the Maoist-led government is short.
Jwala Singh group of a rebel group fought a long pitched gun-battle with police in Sripur, Rautahat, overnight as no casualty figures were immediately available, a published report said.
The Congress demand is genuine but hollow, therefore, as it was never implemented in the first place honestly.
Congress has resurrected the issue after losing the 10 April CA vote.
Acting NC President Sushil Koirala Sunday threatened to ‘strike back’ if Maoists try to impose ‘dictatorial and totalitarian rule’ while making public details of the decisions of fortnight-long central committee meeting that concluded Saturday.
The main opposition asked Maoists to implement all accords, including the 12-point New Delhi agreement brokered by India
in 2006 ultimately establishing rebel Maoists in Singha Durbar and relegating NC to the opposition and he second largest political force from its preeminent position enjoyed for more than six decades.
