Relief in Nepal at opening of Bangkok airports

Kathmandu, 3 Dec: The lift of the seize airports at Bangkok by opponents of the prime minister from Wednesday after constitutional court intervention has come as a relief to the travel trade in the middle of the peak tourist season Nepal.
Beyond South Asia, tourists transit to Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, through Bangkok’s two airports.
Nepal Airlines and Thai Airways link Kathmandu and Bangkok through daily flights.
Thousands of Nepalis and tourists were stranded at Bangkok’s airports after the opposition seized airports 24 November.

Chinese foreign minister meeting PM Prachanda

Kathmandu, 3 Dec: Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will hold political discussions with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda on the second day of his three-day Nepal visit Wednesday.
Yang and his Nepalese counterpart Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav will also continue Wednesday overnight discussions on bilateral ties over a sate banquet.
Yang is visiting Nepal at a time when India and China are competing for influence in the strategic Himalayan state located on the lap of Himalaya south of Tibet.
Tibetan exiles are threatening to launch an independence movement dissatisfied with the moderate police of Dalai Lama, the Tibetan spiritual leader based at Dharamshala, in India.
China is offering Nepal a multi-million dollar aid package Wednesday through a bilateral aid package.
