Kathmandu, 1 Jan: A one-man bench of the supreme court Thursday ordered two Nepali Hindu priests not to conduct worship at ruitauls at Pashupatinath temple , Nepal’s most Hindu sacred shrine where devotees from India and other part of the world offer worship.
A Maoist-appointed governing trust of the temple had appointed Dr Bishnu Prasad Dahal and Saligram Dahal to conduct daily worship instead of three Indian Bhatta or priests who had been running temple affairs since the Malla period when the temple was founded.
PM Prachanda has a Dahal surname.
Three writs were filed at the apex court challenging the appointments of the Nepali priests.
Maoists have been charged for interference in religious freedom.
Four bhandaris [Nepali assistants to Indian priests] filed the complaint at the supreme court.
The two Nepali priests were to take over responsibiliti4s Thursday afternoon after observing strict fasting rituals.

Dear editor,
We welcome the order of the supreme court about two Nepali Hindu priests not to conduct worship at ruitauls at Pashupatinath temple. A country's existence and prestige can gradually be eroded by finishing off its faith and belief tradition and culture traditional faith and cultural beliefs. It is a matter of grief that the Maoist government is playing the rule to destroy all the cultural identities of Nepal. I hope all the nationalist Nepali will be careful to save our country's sovereignty and identities.
Thank you.
