Task force to discuss common minimum programme

Kathmandu, 28 May: CPN-UML, the party leading a government Thursday presented a 50-point common programme for discussions before 16 of 22 invited political parties presented for discussion.
Four major parties formed a task force to discuss the common programme and form of government.
A 13-point work procedure of government and a code of conduct of government has also been proposed.
CPN-UML called for an end of the current winter session before the budget session begins.
Ruling parties are asking the constituent assembly chairman not to bring before parliament for discussion for action against the president and rectify A Maoist secretariat meeting Thursday decided to work for a people oriented constitution and intensify struggle against government.
A three-member cabinet met for the second time Thursday after delay in government formation.

People moving to safe areas along Saptakosi river


Kathmandu, 28 May: People along Saptakost river have started to move to safe areas after fears th river might again change course after three coffer dams were damaged overnight.
A team has been sent from the capital Thursday to inspect the damage and work to control damage.
