Bjaya Gachechar registers party with election commission

Kathmandu, 10 June: Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar Tuesday registered Madeshi Jajaadhikar Fourm-Nepal at the election commission with the support of 29 of 53 members of parliament.
Sixteen central members were behind the Gachedhar faction of the MJF, terai’s biggest party, after a formal split.
The MJF central committee is discussing the split later Wednesday.
The faction led by chairman Upendra Yadav expelled Gachedhar from the party.
Differences surfaced in the party is the issue of joining a government led by Madhav Kumar Nepal—opposed by the faction led by Chairman Upendra Yadav who was charged for siding with Maoists.
The future of the Nepal government is not at risk with the split after the Yadav faction decided to stay in the opposition bench.

Maoists demand full implementation of its decisions

Kathmandu, 10 June: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Maoist Chairman Prachanda held discussions Tuesday to run parliament smoothly.
“Talks are moving in a positive direction,” Nepal said after the talks.
Maoists have come out of the street and disrupted parliament proceedings demanding correction of a presidential request asking Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal to continue after dismissal by Maoists.
PM Nepal will address the concerns raised by Maoists in parliament and the government won’t immediately take action against Lt Gen Kul Bahadur Khadka, Annapurna Post reports quoting Maoist leader Narayan Kazi Shrestha.
Parliament is scheduled to meet Wednesday.
But a Maoist secretariat meeting Wednesday decided to permit the smooth running of parliament only if the Nepal government implement all past decisions of the Maoist-led government.
Prachanda Wednesday briefed the secretariat on Tuesday’s meeting.

Top UN official in town
Kathmandu, 10 June: Samuel Tamrat held discussions with Madhav Kumar Nepal Tuesday of the extension on the UNMIN mandate which ends 23 July.
Tamrat was deputy to Ian Martin Special Representative of the secretary general.
The integration is not expected to be completed by the 23 July deadline.
UN officials said
Tamrat, director of UN Department of Political Affairs, also held discussions Tuesday on the extension of the mandate with Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala and Maoist Chairman Prachanda.
Nepali Congress has been critical of the UN role in Nepal demanding a
re-verification of 19,000 Maoist combatants after Prachanda boasted Maoists tricked the UN into verifying 19,000 combatants when the actual strength of the PLA was only 7,000 to 8,000.
Tamrat is continuing discussions Wednesday.

Nepali killed in Iraq

Kathmandu, 10 June: A internet blog has showed clips of the murder of a Nepali youth in Iraq, Rajdhani reports.
He was identified as Gyan Bahadur Thapa—a security guard.
An unidentified terrorist group killed him.
