Second round talks inconclusive


Kathmandu, 17 July: Second round government and talks with representatives of government officials demanding increased was inconclusive Friday with agreement to meet again Saturday, union representative Krishna Bhandari said
Government proposed allowances in the budget will be converted into pay hike.
Unions are demanding a flat Rs 5,000 monthly hike.
Work at government offices was again affected.
Finance Minister Shanker Pokhrel led the five-member government team.

Nepal Telecom official abducted

Kathmandu, 17 July: An unidentified armed group Friday abducted Nepal Telecom official Shanker Pokhrel from Sunsari.
Two others escaped.

Kathmandu, 17 July: Kathmandu district court Friday remanded Biren Shrestha and Merina Sakya to custody to investigate gruesome murder charge of girl student Khyati Shrestha.
Two cases were registered against Shrestha and Sakya Thursday.
Sayka pleaded innocence.
They were sent to sent to prison Kathmandu district prison.
Body parts of the student were recovered form the capital and Chitwan.
