Maoists stone minister’s car

Kathmandu, 10 Oct: Maoists Saturday stoned the car of Industry Minister Mahendra Prasad Yadav in Butwal Saturday damaging it.
Maoists Friday resumed disruption of activities of the prime minister and ministers Friday after a brief suspension during dasain.
Maoists Friday greeted Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal with black flags in Pokhara and Dhulikhel.
Maoist parliamentary party Friday also decided to continue their protests on the street and in parliament until their demands are met.

Sher Bahadur Deuba going to New Delhi

Kathmandu, 10 Oct: Senior Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba is going to New Delhi Sunday, Rajdhani reports.
Sources said he will hold political discussions with Indian leaders although the visit was described as private.
Former Prime Minister and Chairman of Rashtriya Janasatki Party Surya Bahadur Thapa is returning home Saturday after holding discussions with Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee Friday.
RPP Chairman Pashupati SJB Rana held discussions with Foreign Minister SM Krishna Friday, Kantipur reports.

Nepali Maoists involved in Indian policemen murder: Indian claim

Kathmandu, 10 Oct: Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan has alleged Nepali Maoists were involved in the murder of 17 policemen in the state Thursday, India Today online reports.
Indian Maoist Naxalites ambushed the policemen.

Indian ambassador in Mustang

Kathmandu, 10 Oct: Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood Friday arrived in Mustang Friday with a delegation to inspect Indian assisted projects, Annapurna Post reports from Myagdhi.
He came on a week-long visit to increase Indian assistance in projects.
The team returns to the capital 16 October.
Officials have taken special interest in the visit at a time when China has asked for the deployment of Armed Police Force along the Nepal-Tibet border.

Kathmandu, 10 Oct: Cheej Kumar Shrestha died Saturday after a long battle with cancer, family said.
Shrestha was associated with Nepali Congress and was a liberal democrat.
