Maoists to declare autonomous republics

Kathmandu, 10 Dec:Chairman Prachanda said Thursday his party will go ahead with plans to declare 13 autonomous republics as scheduled Friday.
He said this to reporters in Dhangadi Thursday.
Prachanda is scheduled to declare a republic in the Everest region Thursday and later a Newa republic in the capital.
The Chairman of UCPN (Moaist) said the declaration is not unconstitutional or against the spirit of the comprehensive peace agreement as claimed by other parties.
The party central party leaders Thursday discussed the borders of the republics; discussions were inconclusive and meetings will continue, Dr Baburam Bhattarai said.,

Indian Maoists kill three workers of ruling communist party in West VBengal

Kathmandu, 10 Dec, Indian Maoists shot dead three workers of the ruling CPI (Marxist) in a village in West Bengal Thursday.
Maoists charged them for being police informers, Indian media reports.
The Maoist movement in India of interest to Nepalus.
India encouraged Nepal’s Maoists to join the political mainstream and brokered a peace agreement between the former rebels and seven parliamentary parties.
It even sheltered Nepali rebels in India while New Delhi and state governments refuse to negotiate with their own rebels even while admitting the Maoist insurgency is India’s biggest problem.
Another Nepali interest is whether Nepali and Indian Maoists have working relationship.
