Nepal has biggest team in Denmark climate summit

Kathmandu, 11 Dec: Nepal has the biggest team at the world climate summit in Copenhagen, Denmark, Annapurna Post reports.
According to the protocol department of the foreign ministry, until Thursday more than 80 persons were in the Nepali team with additions till being made.
USA has 41 members, India 34 and China 38 only.
Six ministers, 20 lawmakers, chief secretary and secretaries are in the Nepali team.
Only six members will get entry into the main hall; others will have to follow the summit though television.
Press advisor of the prime minister Bishnu Rijal said only three persons are going on government expense.
According to him, others are traveling with DFID help. The help will be included as part of British development assistance to Nepal.
A recent directive for foreign aid said aid will not be abused.
There was no response from DFID Nepal despite repeated attempts.
Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala and Foreign Secretary Madhav Kumar Bhattarai are not going with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Sujata’s aide Bharat Sapkota said the foreign minister opted out of the team because of the jumbo group.

TMLP also recruiting militant force

Kathmandu, 11 Dec: TMLP, the fifth largest party in parliament, is recruiting partially underground youth force in 12 districts, a concerned source said.
Kaushaal Sharma is coordinator of “Terai Madesh Service Security Association”. He is former in-charge of Maoist YCL Kathmandu 10.
Party sources said the association will be formally announced after launch in 22 terai districts. The association has already been formed in
Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Nawalparasi, Rupandaehi, Kapilvasthu, Dang, Banke and Bardiya.
