Trader shot dead in Birgunj

Kathmandu, 10 Dec: In continuing violence in the terai, three motorcyclists shot dead trader Rajeshwor Dubi in Birgunj Thursday.
Birgunj is emerging as the most violent town in the trrai.
The trader died while being rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police suspect Indian criminals for the murder.
One person was shot and injured in Sarlahi where another man was abducted Thursday.

No agreement between thre parties

Kathmandu, 10 Dec: A six-member task force of Maoists, Congress and UML couldn’t agree on a common resolution in parliament to discuss the retention of sacked Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal by President Dr Raam Baran Yadav.
Two ruling parties still oppose a Maoist demand to censure the presidential decision saying he can do no wrong.
Maoists say the action was unconstitutional.
The task force also discussed an amendment in the constitution to define the powers of the president.
The task force had to prepare a common resolution by Wednesday to submitted to top leaders of the three parties for approval.
No date for a next meet has been set.

Prachanda, Upendra Yadav hold discussions

Kathmandu, 10 Dec. Chairman Prachanda and MJF Chairman Upendra Yadav held political discussions Thursday.
Both parties have been demanding the formation of a national government.

Minister registers defamation case against CDO she slapped

Kathmandu, 10 Dec: State Minister for Agriculture Karima Begum Thursday filed a defamation case against Parsa CDO Durga Prasad Bhandari demanding compensation at the Parsa district court Thursday.
She slapped Bhandari at his office last month.
Government hasn’t acted against her even amid demands from officials for action.

UML approves Chairman Khanal’s political report

Kathmandu, 10 Dec: UML politburo Thursday approved a controversial political report of Chairman Jhalanath Khanal with changes and amendments.
A task force has been formed to incorporate changes and amendments.
Khanal had suggested formation of a new government to accommodate Maoists.
Khanal was charged by anti-Maoist section in the party for being soft towards them.
The politburo met after a week’s recess.
