Govt. attention drawn to criticism over honour list: Spokesman Shanker Pokhrel

Kathmandu, 1 June: Government Spokesman Shanker Pokhrel said Tuesday government’s has been drawn to widespread criticism of a controversial honour’s list announced the first time Saturday coinciding with 2nd republic day.
At least 12 persons have rejected the honour conferred by the cabinet.
The rejection of honours has come as an embarrassment for the government.
Government was trying to copy a royal palace tradition.
Honours, medals and decorations were distributed on the king’s birthday every year.
