NMKP withdraws support for govt.

Kathmandu, 13 June: Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party (NMKP) with five seats in parliament Saturday withdrew its support for the embattled government of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal which still retains a majority in the 601-member legislature,
The one-year-old government of Nepal still has the support of 21 other parties in constituent assembly cum parliament.
The Bhaktapur-based communist splinter group accused the government for failure to fulfill promises.
Main opposition Maoists are demanding the government’s ouster and its replacement by a ‘national unity government’ headed by Chairman Prachanda--a proposal rejected by Nepali Congress.

Another shooting death in Janakpur

Kathmandu, 13 June: Raj Kumar Panjiyar, 30, was shot head overnight at wakil tole in Janakpur by Rajan group of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha..
A child shot and injured one day earlier in the town died while undergoing treatment Saturday at a hospital in Dharan.
There have been four shooting incidents in the town in four consecutive days; one government employee was shot dead by a terai rebel group.

Two Nepalis dead in car accident in Canada

Kathmandu, 13 June: Two Nepalis died in a car accident in Saskatoon, Canada, 3 June.
Sharad Bagale, 32, and Mohan Bhattarai, 41,died along with three Canadians.
“All five people in two cars died. Both men are from Nepal, but had been living in Saskatoon, The Star Phoenix reported.

Nepse index gains 6.18 points

Kathmandu, 13 June: Nepse index gained 6.18 points at the end of five-day trading Thursday.
The market opened at 478.64 points and closed at 484.82 points Thursday.
Altogether 966,600 shares of 112 companies were traded for Rs 250.96 billion in 5,799 transactions.
