DETAILS OF MAOST PLENUM


Kathmandu, 20 Nov. A scheduled meeting of the 16-member powerful Maoist standing that was to be held Saturday at Palungtar iu Gorkha was rescheduled for Sunday morning at 7.30.
The first day’s meeting was held in the capital Friday.
Spokesman Dinanath Sharma said after the meeting Friday Maoist combatants in camps under watch by UNMN won’t participate in the Gorkha 6th plenum meet that begin Sunday.
But Maoist leaders have been giving conflicting statements with some saying former fighters will be present in Palungtar where preparations for the plenum have been completed, the party said.
UNMIN reminded Maoists participation by former combatants under its watch will be against the 12-point New Delhi peace accord between Maoists and seven parliamentary parties.
Leaders, including Chairman Prachanda, arrived in Gorkha Saturday.
The party central committee willl meet after the standing committee meet ends and the tamasha will be inaugurated shortly after noon.
Six hundred YCL personnel have been deployed for security, the party said.
