PARAS SHAH HANDED OVER ARREST WARRANT, DETAINED IN CHITWAN (DEVELOPING STORY)

By Bhola B Rana

Kathmandu, 14 Dec.: Former Crown Prince Paras Shah was handed over an arrest warrant by police in Pokhara Tuesday.
He was flown by helicopter to Bharapur where he is being detained at Bharatpur Police Training Acadmy.
He was arrested on a complaint lodged in Chitwan on behalf of the Banagladeshi son-in-law of Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala three days after a pistol firing incident at Tiger Tops Lodge.
Government hasn’t explained it’s delayed reaction to the pistol firing incident in the air by Shah even though government security officials were present Saturday when an altercation developed between Shah and the Bangladeshi.
Paras said he couldn’t tolerate abuses against him, his family and the nation and fired in the air in a fit of rage.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal proudly claimed Tuesday before the interrogation of Paras the government won’t spare anybody flouting
the law.
But to save his chair, he has protected lawmakers of Madesh parties
who have abused senior government officials publicly in the terai
and hasn’t scooped down on Maoists who hurled shoes at Indian Ambassador Rakesh Sood.
Iraq authorities arrested a journalist who hurled a shoe at US President George W. Bush.
India has been demanding action against Maoists.
Maoists and others who have committed serious crimes move around openly in society even as courts have issued arrest warrants against them.
Police haven’t executed the order.
A Maoist wanted for a murder charge sat for the last SLC exams lin frontof the police in the capital.
To save his chair, Nepal acted immediately against Paras following orders from NC.
Paras was a soft target for Nepal from which he’ll attempt to
reap political benefit to push a republic.
Benefits won’t come easily for Nepal and his government.
Supreme court intervened to stop PM’s Nepal’s intervention in
ordering the release of a UML activist accused and convicted for murder.
This speaks a lot of his claim to bring people committing crimes
to justice.
