ANTI-POLIO CAMPAIGN

Kathmandu, 12 March; altogether 4.5 million children below five years were administered anti-polio drops in 16 districts of 75 districts Saturday after stray cases were detected even after the county was declared polio-free by WHO.
The two-day campaign will continue Sunday.

TWO NEPALIS EVACUATED TO INDIA FOM LIBYA

Kathmandu, 12 March: Two Nepalis were evacuated from Tripoli, Libya, to New Delhi, onboard an Indian Airlines flight Frday.
Gunaraj Niraula and Nita Pokhrel were airlifted out of Libya.
An estimated 41 Nepalis are awaiting evacuation from Misrata where they’ll still stranded in oil-rich Libya where pro-government forces are battling to retain power amid stiff opposition of rebels supported by EU and USA.

BISHWANATH GOEL APPOINTED NT MANAGING DIRECTOR

Kathmandu, 12 March: Bishwanath Goel Friday took over charge as managing of Nepal Telecom (NT) Friday with the takeover of communications ministry by Maoists.
Goel was Deputy Director of NT’s Marketing Management Department.
He worked previously as managing director of NT.
He was also associated with another public enterprise Nepal Oil Corporation.
