VISITING CHINESE ARMY CHIEF HOLDING TALKS WITH PM KHANAL
Kathmandu, 24 March: Chinese Army Chief Gen. Chen Bingde is holding talks with Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal on the second day of his rare three-day Nepal visit Thursday.
He’ll hold separate discussions with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav as well
China Wednesday offered Nepal a technical assistance of Rs 1.43 billion
In an arrival statement, Gen. Chen said China-Nepal cooperation will help the ‘maintenance of peace, stability and development of the region’.
The Chinese army chief is highest ranking military officer to visit Nepal after Chi Haotian, Vice-chairman of Central Military Commission and Minister for National Defence, in 2001.

MAOIST INJURED IN SHOOTING
Kathmandu, 24 March: A Maoist Shyam Mmagar Thapa was inured in a shooting incident involving a party colleague Thursday at Jhangjholi in Sindhuli.
Police have initiated a probe into the firing.
