BUDGET PRESENTATION COMPLETED IN PARLIAMENT FOR FIRST TIME IN THREE YEARS

FINANCE MINISTER BHARAT MOHAN ADHIKARI COMPLETES BUDGET PRESENTATION AFTER BRIEF INTERRUPTION UPDATE

Kathmandu, 15 July: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari completed the presentation of the 2011/12 budget in parliament after a brief interruption.
Main opposition NC parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel interrupted during the delivery protesting release of the document on the website of the finance ministry as thebudget was being read out.
He asked the budget only be tabled in the legislature as the secret document was leaked on the website of the finance ministry.
Speaker Subash Nemwang conceded the leak was serious and would be investigated
Adhikari completed the presentation as he also apologized.
Delayed by one day, a complete budget was read out in parliament for the first time in three years.
Three previous annual budgets were delayed by months or even promulgated though ordinance adversely impacting the national economy.

NEPAL TO PLAY JORDAN AT HOME IN SOCCER WORLD CUP QUALIFYING MATCHES

Kathmandu, 15 July: Nepal will play home and away second round of the 2014 World Cup Asian Qualifiers against Jordan at Dasharath Stadium, a senior ANFA official said Friday.
Nepal’s football governing had requested Asian Football Confederation (AFC) he matches be played in Nepal after initially saying it was unable to host the matches
ANFA asked for reconsideration after successfully hosting matched against East Timor
Nepal will play Jordan 23 and 28 July
