CHINESE TEAM RETURNS HOME

MAOISTS,UML HOLD TALKS WITH PARTIES TO COLLCT SUPPORT FOR THEIRCANDIDATES UPDATE

Kathmandu, 18 Aug.: Maoists held separate talks with UML and a front 111of five Madeshbadi parties to collect support for Second Vice-chairman Dr.Baburam Bhattarai to succeed caretaker Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.
No firm decisions were taken.
UML Vice-chairman Bamdeb Gautam said his party was ready to support a Maoist candidate,
Maoists and UML are already in a communist majority government.
NC also held talks with the Madesh front to collect support for Sher Bahadur Dueba.
“We have identify of views. There was no agreement. We will meet again,” NC’s Arjun Narsingh KC said.
A consensus government has to be formed by 21 August.

CHINESE DELEGATION LEAVES UPDATE

Kathmandu, 18 Aug.: A 60=member Chinese delegation concluded a three-day Nepal visit Thursday.
Zhou Yongkang, standing committee member of Communist Party of China (CPC),headed the team.
Minister Without Portfolio Ghyam Shyam Bhusal saw off the high-powered delegation at the airport.

GOVT. TRANSPORT ENTREPRENEURS BEGIN TALKS UPDATE

Kathmandu, 18 Aug.: Government and transport entrepreneurs started talks Thursday to end an indefinite strike launched transporters pressing 41 demands.
The nation-wide strike has inconvenienced people.
