POLITICAL STALEMATE CONTINUES WITH PM KHANAL’S FATE UNCERTAIN
Kathmandu, 12 Aug.: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal will resign Saturday without a breakthrough in concluding the peace process, Chief Political Advisor Prakash Jwala said Friday.
Maoists Friday adopted a tough stance Friday even as Khanal asked Chairman Prachanda to take an initiative for a breakthrough at a meeting of three parties.
Instead, a meeting of Maoist office bearers concluded it wasn’t the party’s responsibility.
“We won’t unilaterally present a proposal until there is an understanding between three parties..
“There is no need for us to present a proposal. Jhalanath Khanal is the prime minister. We are only the largest party. We are not heading the government,” Secretary CP Gajurel said after the meeting..
“The resignation is his (Khanal’s concern),” Secretary Gajurel said following a meeting of the Maoist office bearers who are meeting again.Saturday.
Office bearers didn’t take any decision on sharing of responsibilities in the party, Gajurel added.

Kathmandu, 12 Aug.: Digambar Jha, Chief of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) was sacked by the cabinet Friday.
The cabinet also decided to transfer 16 DIGs of Nepal Police.
