UML CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET KICKS OFF

Kathmandu, 12 Sept.: Opposition UML central committee meet started Monday morning to adopt official party position on national issues; intra-party issues will also be discussed.
Agenda for the meeting was adopted by the standing committee Sunday.
The central committee is meeting for the first time as UML sits in the opposition in parliament after Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal resigned nearly two weeks ago,
UML, like Maoists and NC, is also entangled in deep internal differences with a faction led by former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal opposing Chairman Khanal’s effort to develop close ties with UCPN (Maoist).
Intra-party differences helped bring down the Khanal government after only seven months in office.
Khanal launched the meeting with an address reviewing current political situation.

NC YOUTH CLOSE DOWN CHITWAN

Kathmandu, 12 Sept.: Tarun Dal, youth wing of main opposition NC, Monday closed down central district of Chitwan.
The Dal’s district leader has been arrested for alleged murder of Sanjaya Lama, UML district youth leader in a shooting incident.
