NATIONAL MEETS OF MAOIST GROUPS CALLED OFF UPDATE

Kathmandu, 12 Oct.: Rival Maoist national meets called by the
establishment and rival Mohan Baidya faction have been
called off.
A meeting of office bearers took the decision Tuesday.
The Baidya faction was scheduled to be held in the capital 15 October and the meet of the establishment was to meet one day later.
Baidya asked Chairman Prachanda to call off the national meet
amid serious threats of a split in the larges party.
A meeting of the oft postponed meetings of the central committee will be held 3 November.
Office bearers also decided not to exchange public charges as is
happening now.

POLICEMAN DEAD AFTER KHUKRI ATTACK IN GULMI

Kathmandu, 12 Oct.: Policeman Surya Bahadur Thapa, 28, died while at Gulmi district hospital while undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a khukri attack.
He was injured overnight at Nayagaon where he rushed to resolve a dispute.
Four persons have been arrested.

PM BHATTARAI LAUNCHES NRNA GLOBAL MEET UPDATE

Kathmandu, 12 Oct.: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai
Tuesday morning inaugurated a three-day 5tth global meet of NRNA in the
capital
The meet is held once every two years.
Bhattarai said preparations are afoot to declare 2012/13 Nepal
Investment Year.

MAOISTS CLOSE DOWN RAUTAHAT FOR SECOND DAY

MALDIVES TO HOST 2ND SOUTH ASIAN BEACH GAMES

Kathmandu, 12 Oct. Maldives will host the 2nd South Asian Beach Games in 2013.
A meeting of the South Asian Olympics Cpuncil took the decision Tuesday.
India hosted the 1st Games.
