NC JOINT MEET CONTINUES THURSDAY UPDATE

Kathmandu, 18 Jan.: A joint meeting of the parliamentary party and central committee of the main opposition NC will continue Thursday to discuss state structure, form of government and other issues.
Fourteen speakers expressed their views Wednesday at the meeting of the two bodies with more than 112 members.
The joint meet continues Thursday.
The bodies discussed issues separately without coming to a
decision on the structures.
Speakers spoke Wednesday in favour of a parliamentary system, Spokesman Nabindra Raj Joshi said.
Maoists are pushing a presidential system.

31 INJURED IN 2 VEHICULAR ACCIDENTS

Kathmandu, Thirty-one persons were injured in two vehicular
accidents Wednesday in Syangja and Nawalparasi
At least eighteen people have been injured, five of them seriously, when the bus they were traveling in overturned at Zerokimi of Pakwadi VDC-1 in Syangja District on Wednesday, RSS reports from Syangja.
The bus (Dha 1 Kha 326) was heading towards Butwal from Ratnapur of the district. Police said the critically injured passengers have been taken to Palpa for treatment. Thirteen more passengers have sustained minor injuries and they have returned home after receiving general treatment.
The driver is absconding and a search is underway for him, said the police.
At least 13 passengers were injured Wednesday in a jeep
accident at Bhumahi in Nawalparasi
An Indian was among the injured.
