SEVEN DEAD, IN DANG TRUCK, JEEP COLLISION

Kathmandu, 7 Jan. : Seven persons died and five were injured,
two seriously, in a direct collision between a jeep and truck in
Bhalubang in Dang Saturday morning.
Injured are being treated at a hospital in Nepalgunj in the far-West.
One person was killed Saturday morning he was hit by a bus near Itahari in in Sunsari Saturday,

EIGHT CHINESE NATIONALS ARESTED WITH $97,000

Kathmandu, 7 Jan.: Eight Chinese nationals were arrested
Saturday morning while going with $97,000 they couldn’t
account for.
They were arrested at Baharabise with the convertible currency
stashed in bags.
They were proceeding to Tibet in three vehicles.

NC, UML MEET BEGINS

Kathmandu, 7 Jan. : A meeting of two main opposition parties NC and UML started Saturday morning amid charges by them the government is delaying the twin processes of the peace process ad constitution drafting.
The parties drew the attention of the delay at a meeting of parliament Friday.
While the opposition parties charge the government for the delay, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai charged NC for the delay while addressing a public meeting at his home district in Gorkha Friday.
The constituent assembly (CA) Friday didn’t endorse a recommendation of a Prachanda sub-committee to resolve differences on themes to be incorporated in a delayed by 28 May following opposition by a Maoist group led by Maoist First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya
The Acharya committee meets again Monday.
The Baidya group has raised objections on themes already agreed for incorporation in a proposed constitution.
The differences couldn’t be resolved by the 30 December deadline and now has to be resolved by 29 January.
The main constituent assembly drafting committee headed by Nilambar Acharya met Saturday to endorse the approval by the CA.

HOAX BOMB TERRORIZES PEOPLE IN NEW ROAD

Kathmandu, 6 Jan, A pressure cooker bomb planted in front of Pipal Bot in New Road around four in the afternoon Friday during rush hour created panic and terrorized people.
Nobody was injured.
Literature of Nepal Defence Army were recovered from the bombing site.
The outfit was responsible for the deadly bombing of a church in Lalitpur; it is suspected of planting a bomb infront of the United Mission Office in the capital.
The bombing comes immediately after arrests of several prsons in the city outskirt with bombs.

PRACHANDA TO PRESENT AMENDED POLITICAL

Kathmandu, 6 Jan.: Maoist Chairman Prachanda will
Present a new political proposal for adoption by the party central committee when it meets again Sunday, the chairman’s aide Agni Sapkota said Friday.
Fortnight’s discussions concluded Friday on rival political
proposals of the chairman and First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya fir adoption by the party.
Sapkota said the party chief will incorporate ideas of Baidya in the new political report.
Badya suggests a radical people’s war while Prachanda , according to analysts, is suggesting a less revolutionary communist approach.for adoption.

MJFN WITHDRAWS SUPPORT

Kathmandu, 6 Jan.: MJFN led by Upendra Yadav Friday withdrew its outside support to the government; a formal announcement is
being made Saturday.
Yadav is a former deputy prime minister and foreign minister.
The party charged the government for not fulfilling terai emanda as promised.
The party has 12 seats in parliament.
The government of Prime Minister Bhattarai still has the support of five other Madeshbadi parties.
