GHODE JATRA BEING CELEBRATED

Kathmandu, 22 March: Ghode Janta, is being celebrated mainly in the valley by the Newar community Thursday to protect children from ghosts.
Government announced a Valley public holiday.
A ghost threatening the children is placated with feasts.

Kathmandu, 22 March: The visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to attend the annual general meeting of the Confederation of Nepali Industries (CNI) has been
deferred for political reasons, Nagarik reports.
Top sources close to CNI said Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai also asked the isit of the Indian Hindu leader be cancelled until the 27 May promulgation of the
constitution.
Following the request, the CNI meeting has been postponed until June.

PM ASKES FOR RESIGNATION OF MINISTER SARITA GIRI

Kathmandu, 22 March: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has asked for the resignation of Labour and Transport Minister Sarita Giri of NSP (Devi) for working on the direction of a controversial manpower agency, Balaraj Bania writes in Kantipur.
