POWERFUL BOMB DEFUSED IN RUKUM SCHOOL
Kathmandu, 17 March: gA powerful bomb has been found at the premises of a higher secondary school at the district headquarters, Khalanga, RSS reports from Rukum,
It is said children playing inside the premises had found a powerful bomb of 81 mm. According to the children, they detected the bomb at the foundation site of under-construction school building.
District Police Office has assigned the Nepal Army, Mahindra Dal Battalion to defuse the explosive found inside the school.
A team headed by Police Inspector Niranjan Thapa cordoned off the site where the bomb was reportedly placed.
The bomb will be defused in appropriate place and time, Thapa said.
Police speculated that the explosives might be the one the Nepal Army planted during the conflict period.
A troop of the Nepal Army was stationed in the school adjacent to District Development Committee office during the insurgency.

ONE DEAD,TWO INJURED IN KHOTANG ASSAULT
Kathmandu, 17 March:A person died and two others were injured in Khotang when an unknown group attacked them, RSS reports from Khotang.
The gang killed sixty-two years old, Manaraj Sunuwar, using sharp weapon while he was sleeping at Dan Bahadur Rai's house in Sungdel VDC-8, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Basanta Kumar Thapa at Khotang.
Eighty-one-year-old, Rai received a deep cut in his head and was sent to Diktel based District Hospital for treatment while his wife received minor injuries. The gang looted Rs. 85,000, two tolas of gold and other property from the house.
A police team has been deployed to search for the assailants. The VDC is around 40 km far from the Khotang district headquarters, Diktel.

INDIAN EMBASSY SCHOLARSHIP FOR NEPALIWOMEN CRICKETERS
Kathmandu, 17 March: Indian embassy Friday announced Rs 5,000
monthly education scholarship for all Nepali 14 team members of the ACC U-19 Wmen Championship in Kuwait.
The scholarship is being awarded on yearly installment.
