CABINET SETS ASIDE ONE BILLION RUPEES FOR FORMER MAOIST FIGHTERS AGAIN OPTING FOR RETIREMENT

ONE BILLION RUPEES SANCTIONED BY GOVT. FOR MAOIST FIGHTERS OPTING FOR VOLUNTARY RETIREMENT

Kathmandu, 5 April: Cabinet Thursday set aside one billion rupees as golden handshake for remaining fighters in15 camps who opt for voluntary retirement, Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun said.
The money will be channelized through the peace ministry which asked
for two billion rupees.
Altogether 9,900 plus former Maoist fighters will be asked for the second
time to close between voluntary retirement and integration as there only 6.500 openings for those willing to join Nepal Army.
