INDIA CLOSES BORDER WITH BARDDDIYA SAYING INDIAN MAOISTS BEING SUPPLIED AK47S BY NEPALI COUNTERPARTS

Kathmandu, 8 Aril: :Kulelhani II will resume operation Monday.
The power house was shut down for repair after lightning struck and
damaged a transmitter Thursday.

JANATA BANK GOING PUBLIC TO RAISE RS.600M
Kathmandu, 8 April: Janata Bank is going public on the first week of May
to raise Rs 600 million through sale of six million shares at Rs.100 per unit.
The commercial; bank was launched three years ago.
The bank is raising the money when there is little public response to initial public offerings (IPO) with continued bearish trend in the share market when
shares aren’t even fetching face value in trading in the share market.
The bank operates through 22 branches.
Citizens Investment Trust, NMB Capital and Civil Markets are the issue
managers.

KUMAR THAPA ELECTED ITF PRESIDENT
Kathmandu, 8 April: Kumar Thapa was elected Saturday president of the executive committee of Nepal International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) by the fifth general assembly.
A 17-member executive committee was elected for a four-year term.
Rewat Bahaduur Rana was elected general secretary.

INDIA REINFORCES SECURITY ALONG BORDER
SAYING INDIAN MAOISTS BEING ARMED
Kathmandu, 8 April: India has reinforced security along the border with
Bardiya saying Indian Maoists are being armed, Kantipur reports from Gulariya.
Movement of vehicles were stopped Saturday morning without prior
Notice forcing people to walk to their destinations.
The restriction was lifted after fours at request of Nepali security
authorities.
The movement was stopped amid reports large cache of AK47 were being
supplied by Nepali Maoists to Indian Maoists.
Source said home ministry in New Delhi ordered a two-day closure.
