PRESIDENT REFUSES TO ISSUE TWO ORDINANCES RELATED TO ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS
Kathmandu, 17 Aug.: Ceremonial President Dr.. Ram Baran Yadav has rejected two ordinances related to holding constituent assembly lections first proposed
22 November.
Election Commission said the national vote was not possible without two demands related to a vote an interim constitution laws.
Government asked President Yadav to issue the ordinances.
The presidential move comes amid request to government no to resort to issuing ordinances repeatedly to run government.
The president thought the ordinances were ‘irrelevant’, his office said formally.
Ii a statement, Hari Kumar Shrestha said the ordinances were ‘rejected for
now’.
The president rejected the ordinances three weeks after government sought approval.
