PATAN DOCTORS INTERACTING WITH LOCALS Kathmandu, 17 Nov.:The agitating doctors and staffs of Patan Hospital are interacting with the locals and stakeholders to collect suggestions to plan the further agitation. The Struggle Committee decided to collect suggestion as agitation for about five weeks demanding resignation of the vice chancellor (VC) and rector was not responded “Agitation programmes will be fixed as per the suggestions”, informed the chairman of the All Nepal Health Workers Association Chatur Narayan Chaudhary said. Earlier, the agitating side had on Friday published a notice that all the services except for emergency of the hospital will be closed. However, Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) VC Sangita Bhandari has said there has been no obstruction in any services of the hospital because of the agitation of the doctors and staffs. She said that the attempts for talks were being made and probably it will be resolved by Sunday. Nnnn TWO MORE HYDRO PLANTS IN PIPELINE Kathmandu, 16 Nov.: Two more micro hydroelectricity projects are to be constructed at Narchyang VDC in north Myagdi, RSS reports.. Preparations are underway for the construction of the Upper Nilgiri Micro Hydroelectricity Project and the Ghalemdikhola Micro Hydroelectricity Project at Narchyang. Two hydroelectricity projects – the 164-Megawatt Kaligandaki Gorge Hydroelectricity Project and the 42-Megawatt Mistrikhola Hydroelectricity Project—have already entered the construction phase in Narchyang. Mountain Energy Power, a Kathmandu-based hydropower development company, is undertaking the construction of the 38-Megawatt-capacity Nilgiri Micro Hydroelectricity Project and the 10-Megawatt-capacity Ghalemdikhola Miro Hydroelectricity Project. The same construction company has started construction of the Mistrikhola hydroelectricity project. The Mistrikhola project is being constructed at an estimated cost of six billion rupees. The road leading up to the foot of Mt. Nilgiri, where the project reservoir is located, has already been constructed. Similarly, the Nilgiri Hydroelectricity Project is estimated to cost Rs. 3.74 billion. It is a run-of-the-river type project. The power generated from the project will be fed into the 133-KVA transmission line by constructing a 10-kilometre feeder line. nnnn
