PROMOTIONS IN APF Kathmandu, 12 April: The government has directed the Ministry of Law and Justice to make arrangements of amendment of use of words like ´kingdom´ and ´his majesty´ as per the spirit of the republic, RSS reports.. The meeting of the Council of Ministers today decided to revamp some words and phrases used in 102 laws during the then regime even after seven years of the abolition of monarchy. The government also decided to accept an Indian assistance of Rs. 256.7 million for installing some 2700 shallow tube wells in various districts of Terai, said Government Spokesman and Minister for Information and Communications, Madhav Paudel. Similarly, the government also decided to send the procedural draft on giving cash incentive on import substitution and export promotion and expansion to the Economic Infrastructure Committee, he said. The government also installed five recently promoted APF DIGs and transferred six DIGs to various places. Likewise, the meeting also gave permission to use bulldozers in Chitwan National Park in Bara and Parsa districts for construction of the Postal Highway and for purchasing materials needed for the Nepal Army. According to Minister Paudel, the meeting also decided to provide Rs. 220,000 as medical expenses for Forest Officer of District Forest Office, Dolakha, Som Bahadur Bamjan who was injured in connection with his duty. Nnnn BANDH IN GULMI TO FIGHT RAGING FIRE Kathmandu, 12 April: The Gulmi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has called Tamghas bazaar banda after locals paid no interest in bringing forest fire started at Resunga area, under control, RSS reports from Gulmi.. GCCI organized the banda to bring the fire under control as it went out of control. Resunga area is known as tourism and religious site in Gulmi district. General Secretary of GCCI, Krishna Pokhrel, said that GCCI has called Tamghas bazaar banda and urged all to go to bring the fire under control after locals did not support the efforts made by police personnel and some bodies concerned to bring the fire under control. Fire had started at the area from Wednesday. Fire has destroyed important herbs, trees and wildlife in the area.Fire spreads in the area every year due to negligence and lack of awareness among the people. The area is spread in around five hectares of land. Nnnn NATIOAL FOOTBALL CAPTAIN SAGAR THAPA DECLARED EXCELLENT PLAYER OF YEAR Kathmandu, 12 April: National football team captain Sagar Thapa Friday was declared Excellent Player of The Year. ANFA awarded him an apartment. nnnn. YOUTH CRUSHED TO DEATH Kathmandu, 12 April : A log of wood crashing down a cliff hit a youth leading to his death. The mishap took place at Thaktang on the Beni-Jomsom road, RSS reports from Myagdhi. Fifteen years old Rohit Bhattachan of Arthunge-2, Beni was critically injured when hit by the log. He was airlifted to the Neuro Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment, but died there on Thursday evening, according to the Bhattachan family. Bhattachan was going towards Kobang on a motorcycle when the incident took place, it is learnt. nnnn
