Thousands participated in the jatra marking the end country’s longest festival. nnnn GACHHADAR READY FOR COMPROMISE Kathmandu, 7 June: Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Loktantrik Bijay Kumar Gachhadar has said the United Democratic Madhesi Front was ready to compromise on the issue of minimum election threshold if other political parties agreed over it, RSS reports from Biiratnagaar.. Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Friday, leader Gachhadar said the UDMF was in a mood of giving up its stance against the threshold just for guaranteeing the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections and drafting a new constitution. Gachhadar is the coordinator of the UDMF. He said minimum threshold system in the election was essential for the stability of democracy. He stressed on the need for resolving all election-related disputes for the announcement of election date. Meanwhile, Nepali Congress leader Dr. Minendra Rijal has argued that the minimum threshold system should be adopted in the election. Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport today, he said the adoption of minimum threshold would strengthen democracy and maintain discipline in the election. The new CA again would face obstructions in drafting a constitution if the threshold system was ignored, he added. nnnn
