Two YCL abducted youth found dead; other details

Kathmandu, 19 Nov: Maoist-led government was confronted with another crisis following spontaneous protests in the capital against the killings after abduction of two youth one months ago from neighbouring Dhading district.
Student organizations affiliated with the ruling CPN-UML and main opposition Nepali Congress came out on the streets immediately after the news of the murders broke out and smashed nearly one dozen vehicles at Kalanki where they attacked and damaged the YCL office.
The Valley strike has been called Thursday to protest the killings.
CPN-UML standing committee meeting said Nirmal Pant and Pushkar Dangol were attached to the party and demanded government investigation.
To quell the spontaneous protests, Home Minister Bamdeb Gautam said government will order an impartial judicial probe and added he discussed the killings with Prime Minister Prachanda.
The guilty will be punished, he assured
The fresh murders come after the earlier abduction and murder of businessman Ram Hari Shrestha in the Valley by YCL.
Main opposition has accused the Maoist-led government for protecting the murders of Shrestha.
Bodies of the murdered youth have been kept at TU Teaching Hospital in the capital after being brought from Dhading; the bodies were pulled out from a shallow riverbed grave Tuesday.
The duo were abducted by YCL one months ago from Malekhu.
YCL Chief Ganesh Man Pun denied his organization’s involvement in the murders.
Concerned National Human Rights Commission team has gone to Dhading to probe the murders.

Maoist central committee meet inconclusive

Kathmandu, 19 Nov: A great debate in CPN (Maoist) central committee Wednesday on whether the party should consolidate people’s federal republic through transitional republic or go for a people’s republic was inconclusive .
Only nine central committee members could present their views and remaining members will get an opportunity to speak only Thursday at 7.30 in the morning in the extended committee meeting.
The decisive national workers’ meet also scheduled for Thursday and been rescheduled for Friday.
Because of the extended central committee meeting, the exact inaugural time of the national meet wasn’t announced Wednesday evening.
Prachanda is pressing a transitional republic to consolidate gains after declaration of a republic this year while Baidya is advocating an immediate people’s republic through revolt.
If the national meet is inconclusive the issue will be taken to a general convention for decision.

Policeman murdered in Siraha

Kathmandu, 19 Nov: Police Briju Yadav was murdered in Siraha dead overnight by rebel groups.
His body was recovered Wednesday at Tulsipur in the district.

Administrative reorganization commission formed

Kathmandu, 19 Nov: Government Wednesday formed a nine-member administrative reorganization commission headed by Minister for General Administration Pampha Bhusal.
The cabinet dissolved the Social Welfare Council because of irregularities.
A new team wasn’t formed immediately.
